Dried fruit is very good for you and you should strive to eat some every day. There’s a lot of research that confirms the well known fact that nuts like peanuts and pistachios are able to improve memory and cognitive skills.

A research team at Loma Linda University has found out that some nuts have beneficial effects on brain frequencies. Despite the fact that all nuts are good for you, it looks like pistachios and peanuts if eaten regularly can improve the health of your brain.

Volunteers during the experiment were given different varieties of nuts like almonds, pistachios, walnuts, pecans and cashews, and after were submitted to an EEG scan. Researchers found that after peanuts and pistachios in particular increased the amount of gamma waves, which are very important as they help improve cognitive skills like memory, learning and the rapid eye movement while sleeping.
